Independent Android guide—not Xiaomi, SBI or YONO banking. A HyperOS permission only lets a selected source open Package Installer. Verify the APK first; do not treat a menu switch as proof of safety.

Install Yono Rummy APK on Redmi or Poco HyperOS
Use the permission for the source app that opens the APK under review.
Direct answer
Open Settings and search for “Install unknown apps” if the menu path differs. On many Xiaomi phones it appears under Privacy protection or Special permissions. Select Chrome, Files or the exact app opening the APK under review, allow that source temporarily, complete the install, and turn access off. Keep Play Protect active and stop on any package, signer or permission mismatch.
HyperOS and MIUI menu map
Xiaomi’s official support describes the control as a special permission assigned to a chosen app. Names move between HyperOS, MIUI, region builds and security updates, so search inside Settings is often safer than following an old screenshot.
- Likely route
- Settings → Privacy protection → Special permissions → Install unknown apps.
- Choose Chrome
- Only when the APK is being opened directly from Chrome’s download record.
- Choose Files
- When Files, File Manager or Downloads is handing the saved APK to the installer.
- Missing option
- Search Settings for the exact phrase; a child, work or device-admin policy may hide the control.
Verify before you grant access
- Remove duplicate APK copies from Downloads and chat folders. Keep only the file whose route you can trace.
- Compare the hostname on the download audit and avoid shortened or forwarded links.
- Record file size, package name, signer and SHA-256 with the verification guide.
- Open the APK from one source app and grant permission only to that source. Enabling Browser, Telegram and File Manager together expands risk without fixing file identity.
- Read the installer’s requested permissions. A casual card game should not silently demand accessibility control, device administration or banking credentials.
- After installation, disable “Allow from this source” and run Play Protect. If Android reports a conflict or invalid package, follow the exact error instead of toggling security repeatedly.
When the permission is not the real problem
If the installer opens but says “App not installed”, the per-source gate has already been passed. Check storage, Android compatibility, package validity and signer continuity. If the setting is greyed out, the phone may be managed; do not use developer tools or cloned installer apps to bypass the owner’s policy.
A Redmi or Poco model name also does not confirm APK compatibility. Use the site’s Android compatibility guide and the actual build evidence. This independent card-game route is unrelated to YONO SBI, so a banking sign-in prompt is always outside the install flow described here.
Sources and scope
- Xiaomi Support: Install unknown apps permission.
- Google Android Help: Play Protect scans sideloaded apps.
- Android Developers: PackageInstaller failures and policy blocks.
Exact labels vary across HyperOS and MIUI releases. Follow your phone’s current Settings search and the source named by Android.
Redmi and Poco FAQ
Why is “Install unknown apps” missing on HyperOS?
The path may have moved, or a child/work/device policy may hide it. Search Settings and do not bypass an administrator restriction.
Should I enable every source to make the APK install?
No. Allow only the app opening the verified file, then disable access after installation.
